New layout? Rethink the airflow.

An office rearrangement or change of use is a good point to review the brief for your air conditioning. Bring the proposed layout into the discussion before positions are fixed.

Show us the proposed layout

Mark desks, meeting rooms, counters, partitions and doors. Tell us which spaces will be occupied together and where people sit for long periods. Include intended opening hours and any future expansion that is reasonably defined.

Explain what will change

List changes in occupancy, glazing, equipment and room use. Agree what needs assessing for heating and cooling. Fresh-air requirements and specialist process cooling should be identified separately in the brief.

Coordinate before the fit-out

Discuss unit positions, air paths, controls, ceiling services and maintenance access with the people planning the work. A reused location or an existing unit size is not automatic confirmation of suitability for the new layout.

Your conversation checklist

  • Current and proposed floor plans
  • Occupancy and opening hours
  • Equipment and room-use changes
  • Fit-out dates and project contacts
